You can try with a grinder to remove some plastic so it doesn't touch anymore. I made the holes from the two bottom screw guides of the left panel 9 mm and inserted two washers so the distance increased a little. This is sufficient for the panel not touching the moving parts anymore. If you want to do yourself a pleasure buy two quality pedals toy replace originals. I repaired the clicking sound on my 1004. You have to remove the right crank with a Crank puller. Now remove all the screws on the left side except for the top- right screw and the bottom- right. Remove the two remaining screws on the right side. You can now remove the right panel but the power connector has to be unscrewed from outside and holding the other part by hand. Now look carefully to the panel at the holders for the screws on the inner side. You will see black traces where it touches.
